Here's me, crappy cell phone picture, lol. I'm just lucky I got one, I'd forgotten to bring a camera.

I think I may have seen you there, but yeah, I didn't have any clue what you looked like.

I also got handed a free beer, without ever getting carded or anything, nevermind I'm not actually 21... What the heck, it's St. Paul

Quote from mrodgers :XRT for me is purely a drift only car. I don't drift, but no matter how I set that car up, I can't keep the tail behind me. The FZ5 is always said to be a difficult car to drive and keep the tail behind (from a racing aspect), but I find it a very easy car to drive. XRT though, I'm always drifting, even though it's unintentional.

I can send you a couple setups that are actually pretty neutral. Hint, high coast lock on the diff, and a low power lock, if you wanna really do it, use a locked differential.

I just started using steam a month or so ago, and I really haven't found anything wrong with it. I'm not gonna use it to launch LFS, but I do always have it open anyway.

I never knew you were from Minnapolis, lol. Well, I live in Plymouth, not terribly far away. I'm wearing khaki shorts and a red and white striped polo shirt, maybe I'll bump into you.

For a good car to learn with, you really can't beat the XFG, it's not a tricky car to learn, but you can work on mastering it forever.

I think the most pure car to learn with has to either be the XRG or the LX4, maybe the LX6. These cars will teach you so much, if you can drive the LX6 fast, you can drive anything really.

I really like learning the XRG though, I find it to be just perfectly balanced, XRG @ FE4 is just heaven for me.

The LX cars are pure and balanced too, just faster, and not quite as forgiving. The LX6 is beautifully balanced, but things just happen so fast, it can get out of hand. Great fun though

I'll watch anime, although I'm not a fan or knowledgeable at all.

I do love Sonic X though, but I've been a Sonic fan since Sonic first came out

I'm gonna try and head over there, my dad wants to come too.

Are you in the Minneapolis metro area Todd? That'd be cool to meet up there.

Quote from Bob Smith :You registered on 22/09/2003, assuming you downloaded LFS the same day, you would have started with 0.3A; 3 days before 0.3B was released. See here.

I downloaded LFS and played Demo for a while before I registered. I believe I started in July, I'll have to look up the version then.

I've switched computers since I started playing LFS, but my LFS folder is still called "LFS_S2_DEMO_ALPHA_0_5K"
I don't remember what version we started with, but I remember the Xmas edition when we got the MRT5

It is 100% worth it, I've been playing since probably July of 2003 on the demo, registered in September, and I'm still here.

LFS S1 was my very first purchase as soon as I got a credit card, lol. I was really looking forward to getting it.

Just a note though, there aren't 800 different tracks, just a lot of combinations. There's a lot to master. You'll enjoy it, I promise.

Wow, I actually remember this thread. I didn't post in it, but I remember it vividly reading it now. Congrats on your progress, Mr. Mooney

One of ours had the red ring of death, it was annoying, but not that big of a deal. Microsoft sends you a box, you put it in the box, and send it back, it costs you nothing. You get a 3 year warranty from the date of the last service, so that's huge.

Great games, fun to play, and it has a whole lot of tricks other than just games. We have one upstairs that really only ever gets used for streaming music and photos and video. We had a little streaming device upstairs already, but the 360 does such a better job, we got rid of the old one.

I'd highly recommend.

Quote from Bawbag :When I upgraded pc's, I put my LFS and stuff onto a CD and copied it onto my new pc, I didn't have to unlock anything.

I'm amazed that works, it's not supposed to...

Quote from mrbogeyman :Bovinium is quite humorous in my opinion. It is trying to sound like bottled spring water or something, but all it conjures up in my mind is some sort of 'cow water'!

This comes from the 'Bovin' part, leading me to think of Bovine creatures.....

Now just what is 'cow water'.....not quite as catchy as Gatorade that's for sure!

Also, I always though Hi-BITE was a brake manufacturer like Brembo or something.

I've always thought the same of Bovinium, I laugh every time I see it.

Quote from J.B. :Lean your body weight to the outside of the corner not the inside. The reason is that Karts don't have diffs so unloading the inner rear wheel well reduce understeer. Also the brakes are only on the rear so you can use your left foot to help turn in very effectively.

Good luck! Did I understand you right that you have sufficient funding to go single seater racing? Or are you hoping someone will let you drive because of talent? Either way, get as much kilometers as you can, no matter what kind of vehicle, even if you think you are too old for Karts.

Ah, there we go, that makes sense now. I've always heard to put your weight on the outside, but I never knew why.

It's probably my driving, but most karts I've driven have been suffering from anything but understeer.

He's jealous the British press isn't hanging off his nuts anymore

It'd be a real shame to see him go, he's such a fine and competitive driver.

Quote from MAGGOT :Speaking of Vista, what the hell are MS's plans for us gamers? I've heard it says right on the packaging that Vista is not a gaming OS. XP is no longer sold in stores, so are they just selling us up the river or what?

Thankfully here, XP is still sold in stores, not sure how much longer that'll last though..

I've read that guide before, and it makes perfect sense to me.

Unfortunately, here, it's unlikely you'll actually be able to get your new car with less that 20 miles on it, with stupid dealer test drives and stuff.

Dealers need to instruct their lot attendants to do this then (Former lot attendant here, lol)

Really makes me wish I'd gotten my car new... Oh well.

Quote from SpikeyMarcoD :Well you can run a private server

But, you can't run a private server and still save a .spr. That's the biggest turn off for me, Multiplayer replays are fine for watching replays, but they're no good for actually looking at what your car is doing in detail while hotlapping.

I'd love to be able to connect to LFS world in single player mode, I think it'd make a lot of things better.

Quote from ajp71 :Erm are sure you can export .raf data from an .spr?

Yup, well, you have to open the .spr, watch it, hit escape, then hit "output lap data." This doesn't work with .mpr replays though.
